Cuando Susan y Bill Lamkin se sentaron a discutir el impacto que quer\u00edan tener a trav\u00e9s de su patrimonio, un legado para crear una dotaci\u00f3n para el Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford fue la elecci\u00f3n natural.<\/p>\n

Susan comenz\u00f3 su relaci\u00f3n con el Hospital Infantil Packard en 1988. Ella y Bill se acababan de mudar al \u00c1rea de la Bah\u00eda. Para hacer amigos en su nueva comunidad, Susan comenz\u00f3 a colaborar como voluntaria con la Auxiliar del Gremio de Artes Aliadas, que cuenta con una larga trayectoria de apoyo al Hospital Infantil Packard. Susan es una de los casi 1000 miembros de la Auxiliar que dedican su tiempo y recursos a que nuestro hospital brinde una atenci\u00f3n excepcional a los ni\u00f1os y sus familias.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s de las muchas horas que dedica como voluntaria a la gesti\u00f3n de los diversos aspectos de la propiedad del Gremio de Artes Aliadas, Susan preside el Comit\u00e9 de la Fundaci\u00f3n para Auxiliares. Esta Fundaci\u00f3n se cre\u00f3 en 1999 mediante legados y contin\u00faa creciendo gracias a donaciones directas y legados adicionales de auxiliares y miembros de la comunidad. Estas donaciones se invierten para el crecimiento, y el pago anual de la fundaci\u00f3n sirve como catalizador para el lanzamiento de programas en todo nuestro hospital.<\/p>\n

Hoy en d\u00eda, la Fundaci\u00f3n Auxiliares aporta m\u00e1s de 1 mill\u00f3n de d\u00f3lares anuales al Hospital Infantil Packard. Bill y Susan quedaron tan impresionados por el impacto de la Fundaci\u00f3n Auxiliares y del Hospital Infantil Packard que crearon una\u00a0legado<\/a>\u00a0que establecer\u00e1 un nuevo Fondo de Donaci\u00f3n para Auxiliares. Este fondo brindar\u00e1 apoyo a la oftalmolog\u00eda pedi\u00e1trica. "Me encanta la idea de que nuestro legado genere una donaci\u00f3n duradera que seguir\u00e1 creciendo", dice Susan.<\/p>\n
