Dawes se incorpor\u00f3 al hospital en 1989, antes de su gran inauguraci\u00f3n en 1991, y fue director ejecutivo desde el a\u00f1o 2000 hasta el 2018. Conocido por su car\u00e1cter afable e imperturbable, se relacionaba bien con todo el mundo, desde padres hasta funcionarios de la Universidad de Stanford.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBajo su direcci\u00f3n, pasamos de ser un hospital comunitario muy bonito, con un dise\u00f1o agradable y familiar, a un hospital infantil de clase mundial, que atrae pacientes de todo Estados Unidos y del mundo entero\u201d, dice Susan Packard Orr, hija de Lucile Packard, quien form\u00f3 parte de la junta directiva del hospital desde 1993 hasta 2017.<\/p>\n<p>Dawes, a su vez, atribuye esta transformaci\u00f3n a donantes como usted, que creyeron en el hospital e hicieron posible su crecimiento. \u00abUn hospital infantil es tan bueno como su comunidad lo desee\u00bb, afirma. \u00abEn nuestro caso, la comunidad se ha expresado con claridad y contundencia: nos han convertido en uno de los mejores del pa\u00eds\u00bb.
