At Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, dreams fuel resilience, hope, and healing. This year, we invite you to witness patients, care team members, and families share their dreams for a brighter tomorrow. Each dream symbolizes a tangible future—one made possible by the generosity of donors like you.
Meet Max – 3D Digital Artist, Future Ocean Explorer and Inspiration for Team Mighty Max
As Max stepped up to ring the Golden Bell at the end of his cancer treatment in September 2023, he was surrounded by more than 100 friends, family members, and care team members holding pompoms, throwing streamers, and cheering loudly. It had been a difficult journey for Max through treatment, and his community rallied around him every step of the way.
Meet Mikayla – Artist, Scooter Rider, and Heart Transplant Recipient
On June 9, 2023, Mikayla’s family received the call that a heart was available. They told Mikayla the amazing news. Two days later, Mikayla’s new heart beat in her chest for the first time, giving the little girl a second chance at life. The Heart Center team was thrilled to see Mikayla recover exceptionally quickly—she was out of the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit and into a step-down unit within a week, and soon she was back home.
Meet Arya – Mac ‘n Cheese Aficionado, Trolls Fan, NICU Grad, and Craniofacial Patient
For a little girl who has already endured a lot, Arya is able to find joy in the little things in life, thanks to her Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford care team.
“She plays tennis, which she picked up from watching her grandpa,” her mom, Shubh, says. “And she also models for my [clothing] brand. Seeing her do these incredible things means a lot.”
