Gabe y Miriam llamaron a su hija Viviana, que significa \u201cllena de vida\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pero a las 5 semanas de edad, a Vivi le diagnosticaron atresia biliar; su h\u00edgado estaba fallando y su vida corr\u00eda peligro.<\/p>\n

A los cinco meses de edad, los m\u00e9dicos realizaron una cirug\u00eda exploratoria y finalmente determinaron que el h\u00edgado de Vivi no pod\u00eda salvarse. Gracias a la compatibilidad del h\u00edgado de Gabe, Vivi super\u00f3 con \u00e9xito la cirug\u00eda de trasplante parcial de \u00f3rgano en el Hospital Infantil Packard, pero termin\u00f3 rechazando el nuevo h\u00edgado.<\/p>\n

Afortunadamente, el incre\u00edble equipo de nuestro Centro de Trasplantes utiliz\u00f3 un procedimiento ya existente de una forma novedosa, filtrando las c\u00e9lulas sangu\u00edneas que causaban el rechazo. Le salv\u00f3 la vida a Vivi.<\/p>\n

\u00a1Gracias a amigos como t\u00fa, la beb\u00e9 Vivi y su familia est\u00e1n bien!<\/p>\n

Gracias a donantes como usted, que apoyan la investigaci\u00f3n de trasplantes en el Hospital Infantil Lucile Packard de Stanford, historias como la de Vivi se hacen realidad cada d\u00eda. Ahora es una ni\u00f1a sana y feliz que disfruta jugando con sus hermanas como cualquier otra ni\u00f1a que tiene una infancia normal.<\/p>\n

Cuando un ni\u00f1o se enfrenta a un diagn\u00f3stico que pone en peligro su vida, su generosidad lo significa todo.<\/p>\n
