Valoran este evento como un hito anual que marca lo mucho que ha avanzado su querido peque\u00f1o.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Koen naci\u00f3 con una frecuencia card\u00edaca baja que le caus\u00f3 da\u00f1o cerebral y fue trasladado de urgencia a nuestro hospital una hora despu\u00e9s de su nacimiento para recibir la tecnolog\u00eda de vanguardia, la investigaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s avanzada y la atenci\u00f3n especializada que necesitaba. Pas\u00f3 el primer mes de su vida en nuestra unidad de cuidados intensivos neonatales y en la unidad de cuidados intermedios neonatales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Los padres de Koen, Nickole y Ryan, no pudieron tenerlo en brazos de inmediato, pero cada d\u00eda las enfermeras los animaban a involucrarse y cuidar del peque\u00f1o Koen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">\u201cNos hicieron sentir como si a\u00fan fu\u00e9ramos padres, permiti\u00e9ndonos hacer lo que pod\u00edamos, como cambiarle los pa\u00f1ales, lavarle la cara y darle peque\u00f1as gotas de leche\u201d, recuerda Nickole. \u201cDesde el principio, los m\u00e9dicos y las enfermeras nos dieron motivos para tener esperanza. Seguimos aplicando el consejo de su neur\u00f3logo, quien nos dijo que el cerebro de los ni\u00f1os peque\u00f1os puede hacer cosas asombrosas, as\u00ed que no pongamos l\u00edmites a lo que es posible\u201d.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Poco a poco, la salud de Koen mejor\u00f3 y pudo regresar a casa con sus padres. Su tratamiento m\u00e9dico contin\u00faa y recibe atenci\u00f3n constante de nuestros equipos de radiolog\u00eda, neurolog\u00eda, oftalmolog\u00eda y ortopedia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Su apoyo al Fondo para la Infancia permite que pacientes como Koen reciban la mejor atenci\u00f3n y la investigaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s avanzada disponible.
