Este premio reconoce a los voluntarios del hospital cuyos a\u00f1os de servicio dedicado han dejado una huella imborrable en nuestros pacientes, familias y personal; personas que no solo han entregado su tiempo, sino su vida entera a esta comunidad. Es el m\u00e1ximo reconocimiento que podemos otorgar a un hospital que tiene el privilegio de contar con m\u00e1s de 500 voluntarios comprometidos.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Ya sea leyendo un cuento a un ni\u00f1o, acunando a beb\u00e9s reci\u00e9n nacidos o formando parte de nuestra junta directiva, estos voluntarios son una parte importante de la extraordinaria atenci\u00f3n que brindamos.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cEste premio celebra el poder del voluntariado y honra el legado perdurable de Lucile Packard: un legado arraigado en la compasi\u00f3n, la comunidad y la firme convicci\u00f3n de que cada ni\u00f1o merece una atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica excepcional\u201d, afirma Maryellen Brady, directora de servicios de voluntariado del Hospital Infantil Packard.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">El 22 de abril, Sierra Clark, nieta de Lucile y miembro de la junta directiva del Hospital Infantil Packard, entreg\u00f3 el primer premio en un evento celebrado en el Jard\u00edn del Personal de la Familia Ford del hospital. La presencia de Clark fue un emotivo recordatorio de que la visi\u00f3n y los valores de Lucile siguen vivos, impulsados por quienes la conocieron y la amaron, as\u00ed como por los voluntarios de nuestro hospital y de todo Stanford Medicine Children&#039;s Health. Wilma le explic\u00f3 que la tienda ofrece un oasis c\u00e1lido y no m\u00e9dico donde los pacientes y sus familiares pueden buscar regalos, algunos art\u00edculos de primera necesidad, dulces y globos, y que todas las ganancias se destinan al hospital para apoyar la investigaci\u00f3n y la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica. Desde entonces, June ha acumulado m\u00e1s de 4100 horas de servicio en la tienda de regalos, la Auxiliar Roth (donde ha sido vicepresidenta, presidenta del comit\u00e9 de membres\u00eda y enlace con los servicios de voluntariado) y el Programa Explorer, guiando a pacientes y visitantes a sus destinos durante las obras de construcci\u00f3n del hospital.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cRecibir el Premio a la Trayectoria es un honor, algo incre\u00edble y totalmente sorprendente\u201d, dice June. \u201cMe siento realmente honrada. Formo parte de un equipo de voluntarios y todos estamos aqu\u00ed juntos por estos ni\u00f1os, para que sepan lo importantes que son. Y para apoyar a los padres, que son los verdaderos h\u00e9roes\u201d.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La mayor alegr\u00eda de June es venderle un peluche o una mu\u00f1eca a un paciente, decirle que ese peluche tan especial necesita muchos abrazos y pedirle que le muestre el abrazo. Le encanta ver c\u00f3mo se iluminan los rostros de los ni\u00f1os al apretar su nuevo juguete.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cJune Hipschen es la persona ideal para recibir el Premio Lucile Packard a la Trayectoria Profesional.
