El evento puso de relieve el compromiso del Hospital Infantil de Stanford con la equidad en salud para ni\u00f1os y madres en el contexto actual de cambios.<\/p>\n<p>El almuerzo cont\u00f3 con la presencia de la Dra. Nadine Burke Harris, la primera cirujana general de California. Habl\u00f3 sobre el impacto de las experiencias adversas en la infancia en la salud a lo largo de la vida y destac\u00f3 c\u00f3mo los cambios en las pol\u00edticas de salud est\u00e1n afectando a las familias.<\/p>\n<p>Tras Burke Harris, intervinieron Mary Leonard, MD, MSCE, profesora titular de la c\u00e1tedra Arline y Pete Harman y jefa del Departamento de Pediatr\u00eda; Ryan Padrez, MD, codirector de la Oficina de Equidad en Salud Infantil (OCHE); y Ndidi Unaka, MD, MEd, directora de equidad en salud de nuestro hospital. Todos ellos explicaron c\u00f3mo estos cambios est\u00e1n impactando a nuestra comunidad y c\u00f3mo sus equipos est\u00e1n innovando para encontrar soluciones que aborden los problemas urgentes de las familias, desde el acceso a la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica, la alimentaci\u00f3n y la vivienda hasta la alfabetizaci\u00f3n temprana y otros \u00e1mbitos.<\/p>\n<p>Los miembros de la Junta Directiva de nuestra Fundaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n han contribuido generosamente al avance de las iniciativas de equidad en salud. Con sus donaciones m\u00e1s recientes, Mindy y Jesse Rogers brindaron apoyo a la OCHE, y Tonia y Adam Karr se comprometieron a crear una c\u00e1tedra para el director de equidad en salud de nuestro hospital.
