Nunca pens\u00e9 que este d\u00eda llegar\u00eda. Pude bailar con mi hijo en su boda.<\/p>\n

Mi hijo, Brian, ingres\u00f3 en el Packard Children's a los 16 meses en 1992. Era un beb\u00e9 perfecto y de repente enferm\u00f3. Estuvimos de hospital en hospital sin encontrar respuesta a su misteriosa enfermedad, hasta que finalmente llegamos al Packard Children's, donde le diagnosticaron una inmunodeficiencia. Durante 13 a\u00f1os, toda mi familia \u2014con las dos hermanas peque\u00f1as de Brian siempre a su lado\u2014 estuvo entrando y saliendo del hospital para sus tratamientos de inmunoglobulina intravenosa y m\u00faltiples cirug\u00edas. Fue nuestro segundo hogar. Pasamos nueve Navidades all\u00ed.<\/p>\n

Si no existiera este hospital, Brian no existir\u00eda. Este hospital, el personal \u2014el conserje, el vendedor de pegatinas, las enfermeras, los m\u00e9dicos y dem\u00e1s miembros de su equipo\u2014 desempe\u00f1aron un papel en nuestras vidas que las palabras jam\u00e1s podr\u00edan expresar.<\/p>\n

Brian ahora tiene 27 a\u00f1os, trabaja en las fuerzas del orden y disfruta de una vida activa. El pasado junio se cas\u00f3 con su novia de la secundaria, Christina; fue uno de los d\u00edas m\u00e1s felices de nuestras vidas.<\/p>\n

Nuestro hijo recibi\u00f3 el milagro de la vida cuando entramos en este hospital. Durante 25 a\u00f1os, han sucedido cosas hermosas en este lugar, todo gracias a la visi\u00f3n de Lucile Packard y a la generosidad de tantos donantes que hicieron posible la atenci\u00f3n vital de todas las familias con ni\u00f1os enfermos. Agradecemos eso todos los d\u00edas.<\/p>\n
