Como parte integral de la misi\u00f3n y la historia del Lucile Packard Children&#039;s Hospital Stanford, los miembros de los Auxiliares han recaudado millones de d\u00f3lares y dedicado innumerables horas de servicio para apoyar la atenci\u00f3n infantil.<\/p>\n<p>El primer Auxiliar, ahora conocido como el Auxiliar Charter, se cre\u00f3 en 1919 para apoyar al Hogar Stanford para Ni\u00f1os Convalecientes, donde los ni\u00f1os pod\u00edan recuperarse bajo el sol en el terreno de la casa familiar Stanford en Palo Alto. Con el paso de las d\u00e9cadas, a medida que el Hogar Stanford y luego el hospital infantil se expand\u00edan, tambi\u00e9n lo hicieron los Auxiliares.<\/p>\n<p>Hoy en d\u00eda, casi 1000 miembros, distribuidos en siete Auxiliares desde San Francisco hasta San Jos\u00e9, apoyan al hospital mediante diversas actividades, como una majestuosa gala anual, una floreciente tienda de segunda mano, un complejo de restaurantes y tiendas, desfiles de moda y t\u00e9s, ventas de art\u00edculos usados y la tienda de regalos del hospital. Muchos otros voluntarios brindan servicio directo a pacientes y familiares a trav\u00e9s de diversas Afiliadas.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEn mi rol como jefe de personal, nunca tuve que rechazar a un ni\u00f1o debido a la incapacidad de una familia para pagar, y eso es gracias a los Auxiliares\u201d, dice Harvey Cohen, MD, PhD, el<em> Deborah E. Addicott \u2013 Profesora de Pediatr\u00eda de la Facultad de Familia John A. Kriewall y Elizabeth A. Haehl<\/em>, quien se desempe\u00f1\u00f3 como jefe de personal en Packard Children&#039;s de 1993 a 2006. &quot;Han sido firmemente leales, dando no solo su dinero y su tiempo, sino tambi\u00e9n su coraz\u00f3n y su verdadero apoyo a la salud de los ni\u00f1os&quot;.<\/p>\n<p>Tan solo el a\u00f1o pasado, los Auxiliares recaudaron casi 1,3 millones de d\u00f3lares para apoyar la atenci\u00f3n a pacientes y recursos vitales para familias y comunidades.
