PALO ALTO – Pediatric cancer patients being treated at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital will join hospital administrators, doctors, and nurses, along with local Hyundai dealers for a visit from the national Hyundai Hope On Wheels tour, an initiative to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer research.
The event will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, 725 Welch Road, Palo Alto.
The Hope On Wheels tour travels the country gathering colorful handprints on a Hyundai Tucson SUV from children who are battling – and beating – pediatric cancer. The tour spreads an important message of hope for finding a cure for childhood cancer and serves as a powerful visual reminder to these kids and their families that they aren’t alone in their brave fight against this disease.
Also at the event, Bay Area Hyundai dealers will make a $50,000 contribution to the hospital, earmarked for pediatric cancer research. Hyundai dealers will also announce the creation of a new Hope On Wheels college scholarship for pediatric cancer survivors.
Hope On Wheels (www.hopeonwheels.com) is the symbol of Hyundai’s longstanding commitment to fighting pediatric cancer. Working with CureSearch National Childhood Cancer Foundation, Hyundai dealers from across the country have contributed more than $7 million to date to the cause.
