Ben taught us that we can all do hard things because he did the hardest thing.  He faced his death with a broken heart knowing he would leave his family and friends behind but with a strong determination to live life to the fullest.  In spite of his onset blindness and overtime deteriorating physical function, he maintained and developed vibrant friendships that filled him up with love.  He skied and surfed, mountain biked and rode motos. He was the police chief for the day. He jumped from an airplane, zip lined in the rainforest and swam with dolphins. He ran a half marathon, road tripped on a motorcycle with his dad and his dog Spike. Even today, Ben is our warrior.

The Be Warrior Event is an opportunity for us to remember Ben and to gather friends from our community and beyond to challenge themselves to do something hard. Mount Rose is the iconic peak just outside of Reno and offers degrees of difficulty so there's something for everybody!  It is an awesome day filled with friendship and good conversations and the beauty of nature.

And of course, we hope to raise money to fund the incredible research going on at the Van Haren Lab where treatments for ALD are being developed. Our goal this year is $50,000! Register and donate today!
