This artwork was created by Packard Children’s Hospital patient Emmett, age 1, and his big brother Wyatt, age 4. Emmett underwent his first open-heart surgery at 4 months old at our Betty Irene Moore Children’s Heart Center.
“I get chills thinking about what could’ve been, had we not been at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, where so many incredible doctors and nurses worked together to help him,” Emmett’s monther Yatine says. “All it would’ve taken was for just one thing to go wrong, but so many things went right.”
