It’s been one month since we moved our first patients into your NEW Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Watch all the videos we created in celebration of this historic event.
Meet Lucile Packard
Meet our visionary and founder! “We are going to build this hospital. All we have to do is roll up our sleeves higher and work harder.” – Lucile Packard

Patient Rooms
We have added 149 patient beds. These new rooms were designed to be as comforting and healing as possible for patients and their loved ones, while also being safe and efficient for their care team. Almost all of our rooms are private and allow parents to remain with their child throughout their stay.
Dunlevie Garden
Welcome to the Dunlevie Garden! As much a playground as a garden, the focus here is exploration and imagination. To introduce you to this special place is Elizabeth Dunlevie herself. The garden is a culmination of Elizabeth’s vision as well as the creativity of a children’s book illustrator.
The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary supports our hospital community’s diverse spiritual care needs. We have five chaplains who serve patients and staff of all faith traditions and those who follow no traditional faith.
Operating Rooms
With this expansion, we’re adding 6 new operating suites, which brings us to a grand total of 13 ORs hospital-wide (the most in any children’s hospital in Northern California). Now we will be able to serve more patients, and reduce wait times for appointments. Also, we’ll be the only children’s hospital in California with a neuro-hybrid surgery suite, taking us to an even higher level of excellence in surgical care.
Welcome to your NEW children’s hospital
Thanks to you, we are now the most technologically advanced, family-friendly, and environmentally sustainable hospital for children in the nation.
Most importantly, we will be able to care for more children and families than ever before. Thank you for being a part of our Packard Children’s family and for opening the doors to a brighter future for kids like Tyler.
