In our latest Deskside this week, I had the opportunity to sit down with Mari Kurahashi, MD, MPH, and Elizabeth Reichert, PhD, co-directors of the Stanford Parenting Center, to talk about “Unprecedented Stress: Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health.”
I hope you’ll watch the webinar and find a moment to practice Dr. Kurahashi’s mindfulness exercise! As we heard, it’s so important for all of us to “put our own oxygen masks on first” during this time of intense stress for our children and teens. My deepest desire is that you'll be left feeling hopeful and equipped with at least one tool that you can use to foster your child’s resiliency.
Here are a few resources to help your family and friends:
- Access the Stanford Parenting Center’s website.
- Consider donating to support the Parenting Center—every gift makes a huge impact. Reach out to your Foundation contact or Rachel Olinger at rachel.olinger@lpfch.org to learn more.
Thank you for joining us and some of the best and brightest at Stanford Medicine for the Deskside series, learning together how we can ensure our children and young people have healthier futures.
We’re all in this together!
