Planned Giving Council Sponsors “Scary Things Can Happen” Seminar

PALO ALTO – The Planned Giving Council of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health will sponsor its fifth annual planned giving seminar, “Scary Things Can Happen,” on Wednesday, October 28.

The seminar, intended for estate planning professionals, will feature Craig Janes, partner-in-charge of the Northern California Estate and Gift Group of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. The seminar will demonstrate how to structure and report estate plans accurately. Mr. Janes has extensive experience in fiduciary income taxation, international estate planning and estate administration including negotiations with the IRS and state agencies in closing complex estates.

The breakfast seminar will be held from 7:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club, 2900 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park. The cost for the seminar is $30 and is eligible for one hour of continuing education credit in legal ethics. The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health was established in 1996 through a gift of Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital to Stanford University Health Services. The Foundation is the direct fundraiser for Packard Children’s Hospital and the pediatric programs of Stanford University’s School of Medicine.
