Medi-Cal covers over two in five children and nearly half of all children with special health care needs in California. Despite extensive research showing that Medicaid coverage for children contributes to better health outcomes and improved long-term effects on health and educational attainment in adulthood, Congress is actively considering large reductions in Medicaid through the budget reconciliation process.

This webinar discussed the findings from Manatt’s national report, No Place to Hide: Children Will Be Hurt by Medicaid Cuts, which includes estimated funding cuts to California and the expected coverage losses for children and parents. The webinar was aimed towards California child health advocates, families, providers, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to learn about the potential reductions in federal Medicaid funding which, if enacted, will inevitably put Californian children’s health and well-being at risk.
