About_Leadership_Cynthia_Brandt

What does it take to lead an organization dedicated to making sure resources never stand in the way of the best possible health outcomes for all kids and moms?  For Cynthia Brandt, PhD, our Foundation’s president and CEO, the answer starts with joy.

In a recent episode of The Backstory podcast, Cynthia shares what this work personally means to her—and why philanthropy is a message of hope. She talks about the sense of shared purpose that runs through everything the Foundation does. As she puts it, “we’re all on a mission together.”

Cynthia came to our Foundation in 2018 after decades leading ambitious campaigns at the Smithsonian Institution, Mills College, and Stanford University. A sociologist by training, she knows what extraordinary philanthropy can do.

Listen to the podcast now, and get to know Cynthia’s career path, mentors who shaped her, lessons in leadership—and why she shows up every day for kids and families.
