The Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health welcomed four new members to its board of directors: Ken Hirsch, Kelly Lacob, Shreyas Vasanawala, MD, PhD, and Anna Vishria. Together they come from a distinct blend of backgrounds—in business, biotechnology, and pediatric care—that will guide the Foundation’s mission in the years ahead.
“Each of them brings deep professional expertise and a personal commitment to improving the health of kids and families,” says Cynthia Brandt, president and CEO of the Foundation. “We are grateful to have them as partners in unlocking philanthropy in child and maternal health.”
Ken Hirsch
Ken Hirsch (above) is a partner and co-chairman of global TMT banking at Goldman Sachs.
Hirsch serves on the Global Advisory Board for the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He previously served as board chair for Castilleja School and as a board member of the San Francisco Symphony and KIPP Northern California.
His wife, Becky Long, MD, is a retired internist who trained at Stanford in the 1990s. She now volunteers as a cuddler in the NICU at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
Kelly Lacob
Kelly Lacob is the CEO and co-founder of Xella Health. Previously, Lacob was director of product management at Mammoth Biosciences and lead product manager at Visby Medical. She has also spent time working in global health with Medtronic and the Clinton Health Access Initiative.
Lacob serves on the board of directors for the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula and the Stanford Cancer Institute, and is a board observer for MCure Biosciences. She holds an MSE in bioengineering innovation and design from Johns Hopkins University, an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a BA in human biology from Stanford University.
Shreyas Vasanawala, MD, PhD
Shreyas Vasanawala, MD, PhD, is a pediatric radiologist and scientist focused on democratizing children’s access to advanced diagnostics. He is the William R. Brody Professor of Pediatric Radiology and Child Health at the Stanford School of Medicine and serves as radiologist-in-chief at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health.
Dr. Vasanawala received his BA in mathematics from the California Institute of Technology and then completed his medical training and PhD at Stanford University. His research spans across novel hardware and machine learning algorithms.
Anna Vishria
Anna Vishria is a longtime community volunteer with experience in education, governance, and financial stewardship. At Sacred Heart Schools, she served on the board of trustees, chaired the finance committee, and served on the executive, investment, and audit committees. She also served as co-president of the Sacred Heart Parent Association, among other volunteer roles supporting the school and the broader community.
Before focusing on community service, Vishria built a career in corporate tech finance. She is a member of the Lucile Packard Foundation’s Big Science & Innovation Task Force and the Ambassadors for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital.
