Summer Scamper 5k and Kids’ Fun Run to Benefit Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford
Join us for a fun-filled morning on the Stanford University campus
Palo Alto, Calif. – The annual Summer Scamper 5k and kids’ fun run returns to the beautiful Stanford University campus on Sunday, June 25. Summer Scamper is the largest community fundraiser of the year for Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Every dollar raised supports care, comfort, and cures for the hospital’s patients and families.
The family-friendly event will take place from 9 a.m. to noon, starting and finishing at 294 Galvez St., Stanford. Participants can register for the 5k run, walk, and wheelchair division or the kids’ fun run. Every participant receives a DRI-fit race shirt, and every kids’ fun run participant will receive a special finisher medal. There is also the option to sign up as a Virtual Racer, allowing supporters to run, jog, or walk and fundraise from anywhere.
The fun continues after participants leave the course, with an Awards Ceremony and Family Festival featuring music, food vendors, the kids’ zone, wellness exhibitions, and more. Participants will be able to mingle with Stanford University student athletes and hear inspiring stories of this year’s Patient Heroes, including Iliana who received surgery in utero for spina bifida at Packard Children’s. Every year Summer Scamper celebrates several of the hospital’s brave children and families.
“I look forward to Scamper-ing with everyone again this year!” says Cynthia Brandt, PhD, president and CEO of the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health, the sole fundraising entity for Packard Children’s and the Stanford School of Medicine’s child and maternal health programs. “It’s so inspiring to see so many community members, of all ages, come out to support our hospital’s extraordinary patients and families.”
Since 2011, Summer Scamper has raised more than $5 million for children’s health. Summer Scamper couldn’t happen without generous support from its corporate sponsors, including Gardner Capital; C.M. Capital Foundation; Perkins Coie; Stanford Federal Credit Union; The Draper Foundation; Joseph J. Albanese, Inc.; and Altamont Capital Partners.
Come and enjoy this fun local event with a friendly community feel—and support a great cause. Visit SummerScamper.org to register as an individual or create a team.
