Medicaid Financing of Care Coordination Services for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN)
State Medicaid programs provide health care coverage for nearly half of all CYSHCN and have an opportunity to strengthen care coordination services and systems for these children. There are a variety of approaches that states can use to finance care coordination services. This brief highlights financing approaches across Medicaid programs in five states: California, Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Wisconsin.
This publication can be used to support the implementation of high-quality care coordination as outlined in the National Care Coordination Standards for CYSHCN.
