During the holiday season, more than 40 fundraisers raised a record-breaking $75,000 through the Virtual Toy Drive campaign! This year was like no other. Due to COVID-19 infection control, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford could not accept toy donations. However, despite the pandemic, our community stepped in with monetary donations to ensure that kids could still enjoy being kids during the holiday season.
Stella, an 8-year-old philanthropist and dedicated Champion for Children, returned for her 4th annual holiday toy drive! In December she hosted a Virtual Toy Drive fundraiser and went above and beyond her goal, raising $6,050.
“COVID-19 will not stop me from bringing holiday cheer to patients at Packard Children’s,” says Stella.
One hundred percent of donations through the Virtual Toy Drive support the Fun Fund. Our Child Life and Creative Arts team uses the Fun Fund to provide safe gifts for every child spending the holiday season at Packard Children’s and year-round to continue the fun! Toys, books, and activities are needed year-round to stock our hospital’s playrooms, engage and distract patients at the bedside, and help children reach developmental milestones.
We are so grateful for all our Virtual Toy Drive Champions who helped our patients and families celebrate the holidays and keep the cheer going into 2021!
