When the COVID-19 pandemic reached our community, team members at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford quickly went to work, stepping up to a new challenge while continuing the life-saving care under way at the hospital.
To support our dedicated staff at a time of unprecedented change, many members of our community have fueled our work—literally—by providing meals and gift cards.
“The community’s support for our health care workers has been profoundly inspiring,” says Amy Wong, director of corporate relations at the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children’s Health. “Soon after the pandemic hit, we started receiving generous offers of meals from local restaurants, grateful patient families, and community groups wanting to lift up our staff during this hard time.”
Team members across the hospital and spanning all shifts have received support from our community in the form of gourmet meals, healthy snacks, chocolates, coffee, and much more. Many of the donations helped local restaurants as well as our hardworking staff.
Thank you, to our incredible care team members who have worked so hard during this challenging time, and to our amazing community that supported them every step of the way.
