For young patients at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, the start of the school year looks a little different. Instead of heading to a new classroom, they’re navigating treatment plans, surgeries, and hospital stays—while still completing schoolwork, making art, learning to code, and doing all the things curious, growing kids do.

This year, we’re sending our patients a backpack packed with something they can always use: encouragement from people like you.
